Re: New member, new project

Welcome!
Were still on Corona-time here in the states with lots of screen time and parts planning for the next work season. Please offer the group the parts that you don't want as you'll find ready buyers amongst us.
Regards,
Ken

Re: Interior 1988 series 3

Roger, Yes, we're still in Boynton and luckily no symptoms so no tests. We may head back at the end of May but time will tell. You were smart to get back home as Palm Beach County has 2088 cases as of today. While hospitals have capacity, treatment is "wait and pray" with supplemental O2. I hope you...

Song,
There, are a few long posts on redying the seats with an airbrush. Some recommend using Leatherique BEFORE the spray on dye. I am using Leatherique on two BMWs as a maintenance item, but have no personal experience with the redye process.

Re: This Sucks

I have been debating adding this reply. But we have to look at the opportunity to be home with our loved ones and to work on our 6'ers. I think the parts houses are working as is FedEx and Amazon Prime. Also, spring is coming although most of the botanical gardens are closed. Washington DC has a "Bl...

Mystery white shark

On Jan 26th, my wife and I went to a Fuel Fed Coffee event on SW 7th St, in Ft. Lauderdale. There was a white 635CSI. I wanted to chat with the owner, but I couldn't find the chap (or lass). I've got my own 633 (which is safely stored in NY for the winter) so I'm not looking to buy. Just pleasant hi...

Re: Electrifying my '85 635CSi Euro

I'm reminded of the Patek Phillippe advert: we only hold it in trust for the next generation. So while I admire the science project aspect of this, as a re-do of a piece of rolling art (engine included), this would not be my first choice.

Re: Quick Question on Drive Shaft U-Joints

I haven't needed it yet, but previous posters mentioned Drive Shaft Specialist in San Antonio TX (www.driveshaftspecialist.com) and Beyer Drivelines in Chandler AZ ([email protected])
This IS NOT a recommendation as I haven't used either but perhaps some other Coupers can chime in.

Re: Electric winch?

What if you mount the winch to the back side of the lift with a snatch block mounted to the wall to line up with the centerline of the car (or the tow loop on the passenger side)? Then you have 2x the mechanical advantage and therefore you can use a really small winch.

Re: Where could this leak be coming from?

Zinnocoupe: It's not a seal but a "seal carrier" that is shaped like a plug. Jay said it's not necessary, but what the hell, I was preparing for the worst. Cheaping out on brakes and brake parts is foolish. It goes in the servo unit. See realoem !https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/showparts?id=5284-US...

Re: Where could this leak be coming from?

Song, Definitely let Jay Stratton rebuild your booster with new seals. Also suggest you contact Bill Fox (Max Lumens) [email protected].com for the machined aluminum seal carrier to replace the plastic one and then send it with your booster to Jay. One assembly tip: fit the hydraulic lines to the M/C...

Re: Help with hot running m88

Sort of a question for you cooling experts: When does the A/C pusher fan come on? Is it only powered when the A/C is running or is it only thermostatically controlled? How does the temp at idle respond if you have the A/C on?
Jose is on the right track.

Hi, As mentioned, I covered the dead pedal on the drivers' side and made the passenger side a little wider. For the rear, I made them longer to fit under the power front seats. If you contact Chrissy at Cocomats, I'm sure she can send you the template for my car. There's no obligation although if yo...

Fix it and let the buyer pay the CA fees (or can you sell it out of state to re-register?)
