How long have you owned your 6 series?
I purchased my 1984 euro in 1989, 25 years ago. Any original owners still have their vehicle out there?

10 years for my M635CSi, 18 years for my 635CSi but that could end soon.

A long time . . .

I purchased the Green Shark in 1990, actually just around tax time that year, so must be my anniversary #-o

But that makes 24 years of bliss

I do know of a couple of original owners, unfortunately neither of which inhabit this forum :-?

I bought Black Beauty ('86 635CSi, 5-sp) in December 1987. Went to the local BMW Motorcycle dealer to get my BMWMOA 100,000 mile award application endorsed, and was asked if I was interested in buying a 1-year old BMW car they were getting ready to wholesale. The dealer was short on cash that month.

I bought Froggy ('88 Canadian M6) in September 2006. Spotted a want-ad in the Monterey Herald (during the Pebble Beach Concourse week) placed by a guy in Portland Oregon. Sent him a deposit the same day. We bought 1-way plane tickets and drove the car home.

I got mine just before I joined up with BigCoupe.

So I guess that makes it since about March 2008.

Wow - I'm impressed with the long tenure of ownership posted so far! I'm a relative rookie by comparison, having found my '88 M6 in 2007. It's been a thoroughly enjoyable experience so far, with no plans to let her go.

If we were to count the years of longing, searching, and dreaming, my tenure would be lengthened by several years. ;)

There's a surprising amount of long term owners here which is good to see.

I've had mine since April 2006

Guess that makes me the new boy on the block. For me ownership didn't start till November 2012. Distance travelled in that time - 22,000km. Do I regret buying my 635 - not bloody likely. Only regret I have is that I won't be able to enjoy it much more. But the memories I have of the drives I've done far exceed length of ownership.

Cheers Vinny

Hi Vinny , how are you ?
What a coincidence I bought mine in Nov 2012 as well.
Drove it 320 miles back home and it's been in pieces since !
Hope to have it completely restored and back on the road mid to late summer.
In my defence I would add that the car I replaced the E24 with I had owned for 34 years , but I don't see me equaling that again .........

Hi Don

Getting tired mate but still hanging in there. I have been following your repair schedule in the "What have you done" thread and rest assured I am jealous of your abilities. It may have only done 320 miles but i would hazard a guess that once mods / repairs are complete it will see a lot more, and the smile on your face will be hard to wipe away.

WOW! You're old. And the 6er is the oldest one I've ever heard of!

(yeah, I know...car is an '82 year/model, and you were born in '84. I couldn't resist)

I owned this beauty for 3 years and 7K miles. Just sold it a month ago to fund a new business venture. I miss her dearly, but the new owner is in the hood and I'll be able to see her now and then.
