Well, we got the car running. It runs pretty smoothly. We were able to shift it into forward and reverse and it moves under its own power. It stops too. But we are not gonna push it with the brakes.
To get it going, we replaced the two pumps with one high-flow, in-tank pump. Required a little modification, but works great. We then ran some gas through the fuel system, essentially flushing out the gas. Sine it would still not run well after doing that, we pulled the plugs. All of them were gas-soaked. So, we also pulled the injectors, rigged a little injector cleaning set-up, cleaned the injectors, and replaced the seal, spacers, and caps. Put everything back together and...voila! Running, driving 745.
I’ll post a link to some video and post up some more pictures.
More good news—the car is sold. Not gone yet; so, anything could happen, but agreed to sell the car to a guy in SoCal.
More to come...

Nice save on the E23! They are nice cars, well worth saving. It might not be practical to sell in California due to the fees, but many other states are far more classic car-friendly. PA makes the title process time-consuming, although it's cheap & pretty easy.

I have fond memories of the 745. Dad imported an 81 745 for mom back in the 80's when we were playing around with importing grey market cars. We drove the piss out of that thing as teenagers. From 20mph to 100mph not much could keep up with it. Dad thought the tranny was too weak, but it took a good bit of unknown abuse from three teenage boys. Glad to see you brought it back to life. Ours was silver with a blue interior.
