Washer Bottle Bracket Missing

Post by gte619n »

Guys,

I'm at a bit of a loss here. The previous owner took a grinder to the washer bottle bracket and now I've just got a little lip hanging out. I'm looking for this piece:

After checking RealOEM, I'm assuming this was a welded piece to the fender? If so, any ideas for how one might acquire and install a bracket like this?

Thanks!

Hi Evan,
I may have to move my washer bottle (I plan on putting my electric A/C compressor in that location), meaning my bracket may become available. Perhaps I could remove it from my car in such a way as for you to weld/rivet it back to your car. Can you upload a picture of what yours looks like currently?

How 'bout some more info on electric compressor? Saw an old 50's Jag done with one and it looked quite neat

I bought mine from Benling https://benling.coowor.com/ and plan to use the existing lines, evaporator, drier, etc.

Or one can buy it from an EV parts shop like this one here http://store.evtv.me/proddetail.php?prod=Benling

Vintage Air sells them too https://www.vintageair.com/tech-topic-i ... y-hot-rod/

Fully engineered solutions can be found in the UK at https://www.classicretrofit.com/collect ... nditioning

Marc,

Thank you for your kind offer! Honestly, that sound like a pretty good idea. Here are a few shots of what's left... not much but probably enough to act as an anchor:

My initial idea was to 3D print a bracket out of some of the high temp FDM material we have here at the office; however, getting that right and then getting it installed is still a bit fiddly. If I actually had the real bracket I could just tack that baby back in place!
