Centre console carpet section picture request
The problems are
1. it's pearl beige and I need black, but carpet dye should prove to be my friend here
2. the plastic "crossmembers" that are stapled to the plywood frame are missing.
From memory, I recall that there is a vertical piece at the rear that the wooden shelf slots into and a horizontal piece at the front which (I think) is screwed to the transmission tunnel, with the ashtray being screwed into the same to secure the front of the wooden shelf.
My car came with aftermarket/dealer fit aircon (now deleted, obviously), so I imagine the plastic bits were removed with speed being of the essence rather than care!
Has anyone got the centre console in a state of undress to take a picture of the plastic mounts?
Or, has anyone got a spare in black???? Or a spare that I can cannibalise the mounts from?
Many thanks,
Rob

I’m of the opinion this will not help but posting anyway. From a LHD US car equipped with AC

Re: Centre console carpet section picture request
Thank you Ralph, that is very helpful and makes a lot of sense now: there wouldn’t be any rear bracing for ac cars.
Much appreciated,
