I'm selling my 6'er

I've listed my 635csi in the For Sale section. Some of you may recognize the car from some of the drives from the last couple years.

All engines will use a small amount of oil during normal use. 1/2 a quart between changes would be totally normal. A little goes past the valve guides, but the majority of oil consumption happens because the piston rings do not scrape all the oil off the cylinder wall; this oil is burnt during the c...

It starts fine when hot, it starts fine when cold, it plays up when it's sort of middling and doesn't do it very often. That describes the fault my car had exactly. Mine got worse over time. We tried the cooling down thing too but instead we hosed the radiator. Drove the car home and it refused to ...

I probably won't be able to get away from work for this one which is a pity as the Tarana drive is a beaut. If I can get my POS running (waiting for a replacement ECU now), I'll be driving to Brisbane for a wedding last week in March so I'll have plenty of seat time.

The crank sensors are new but I tested them anyway. I also replaced the main relay. If there was no power to the ECU wouldn't I have no fuel too? I smell unburnt fuel from the exhaust

Thanks. I resoldered the transistor and plug joints but still no start. I have the O2 sensor and the low compression engine. It looks like the DME in my car is not the original as it has some writing in permanent marker on it. Perhaps the 059 is the correct one?

DME compatability

Hi all. I have a July '86 build 635csi which will not start. It's had intermittent starting problems for a long time but now it has finally given up the ghost. It has fuel but no spark. I have voltage at the coil, and at terminal 86 on the main relay base. I have changed the main relay and checked t...

Thanks for that Teza. I know about the heater blower, that one went last year lol. If I can do it by just removing the under dash panel than that's ok, I've had that out several times fixing the instruments.

A/C Blower transistor

I was out and about today and decided to turn the A/C on. Fan goes to full speed. D'oh! I knew right away the A/C blower transistor had died (the heater blower works fine). There are plenty of threads on this topic but all seem to relate to LHD cars where you drop the glovebox to access the transist...

Earlier build. Tag in the engine bay says Build Date Jul 86.

I'll definitely start a thread if I do the turbo. It's a fair way down the priorities list though.

VIN decoder says B34. Thanks Gaz

Yes at 8.0:1 comp, I'm going to seriously consider a turbo. Maybe one of those rear mount jobbies seeing as I already have a set of stainless extractors on it.

Thanks for the help

Thanks for the offer Gaz but I'm in Sydney. My car has the unleaded filler neck but this would have been a requirement as the car was built/delivered/whatever after February 1986. If it is as is now evident. a low comp engine, the next mod I'll be doing is to put pistons in it. Either that or an M62...
