I moved to a new house with an attached garage!
My baby no longer has to bump elbows with Jettas and A4s in a common garage.

Re: Mounting USA rear license plate on Euro model

Digging up an old thread….just moved to a new state and concerned about running no front plate. Any great ideas on a no-drill front plate mounting?

E24 M6 chase in Lethal Weapon 2

Continuing my series of watching my favorite 80s cop movies (courtesy HBO Go) I started Lethal Weapon 2 tonight (after enjoying the Beverly Hills Cop series). It seems I had completely forgotten the South African drug dealer in the opening chase scene drives a cherry 1987 M6. While barely able to ev...

Sighting: Toronto M6

I see this beautiful example every time I visit my brother-in-law in the Willowdale neighborhood of Toronto. Not sure if the owner is a member but it’s always great to see an E24 out in the wild.

Re: M6 stalling out, some loosing power at low RPM

I ended up sourcing an in-tank fuel pump from Europe and after a few weeks of waiting it is in and car is running great now. I am going to replace the inline pump now as a precaution given it was likely tortured a bit with the in-tank dead. I guess when I held the car at about 3000 RPM the inline pu...

Oh, any tips on how you remove the in-tank pump?
Looks like it rotates to unlock. Which direction?

Re: Fuel Pump Question

I made the mistake I will mention so maybe another can learn. I accidentally ordered a 16141179425 pre pump instead of the earlier 16141179424 that fits my ‘85 M635CSi. Not compatible, what a pain. Now I have a nice new fuel level sending unit and the same poor fuel delivery. Oh well!

Re: M6 stalling out, some bucking at low RPM

Took the car for a test drive today to make sure the relays solved the issue. Car has been sitting for the winter so this was first drive for a while. On start, car was idling rough, eventually settled down. Drove for 15-20 mins for things to get up to temp. After some hard acceleration the bucking/...

Re: M6 stalling out, losing power at low RPM

e24mpwr, very funny. So new battery and a check of alternator voltage (13.4v at idle). Drove a 20 min highway jaunts and everything seem fine. Then today issue happened again after another 20 min highway drive. Luckily was close home. Had to keep revs pretty high and sounds like misfires on a few cy...

M6 stalling out, some loosing power at low RPM

Hi All, Had a great first drive of the season today. But things went weird about 45 minutes in. First after 45 mins (admittedly mostly city) driving I parking for 20 mins or so. Battery had not been toppped off by alternator. Fine I always bring my portable booster. Then driving home I got stuck in ...

Re: Bring A Trailer M6

This was a real surprise to me! I was thinking $35k maybe.
Didn't know about the 850CSi. More than a little jealous there. Wanted one of those since about 1996 when I had a ride in one. 100mph with no effort and felt as smooth serene as 55 mph.

Not sure if it is quite worthy of the term, but I kinda like the "patina" on your paint. The thread topic of course is part of it. Kinda fits.

After seeing a barn find hot rod with about 50 yrs of patina on it I am starting to appreciate original paint a lot more.

Ha, watching this closely. I should have figured you guys were too.

It has been a little while since a M635 was listed on eBay. Maybe he can get close to his price. That might make up for all the oil stocks I got killed on recently =D>

It's on the registry, about the 6th one down, ..0064.

Interesting comment on the turn signal inners. I'll have to check that out on RealOEM. I did fit the Euro lenses to get rid of that bulge the NA ones have. Wasn't a fit issue.
