SLS Relay Location
Hi everyone. After about 2 months of storage, I got my '89 shark out for few days of daily driving through this weekend before putting it in storage again for a few weeks I immediately noticed a rougher rear-end response to the road and right away I knew something is wrong with SLS. So I slowed down...

Re: Odometers stopped turning (and I don't think it's the gears)
Brucey, thank you for yet another informative analysis. I'll definitely get the cluster checked for worn gears... Also thanks to Dean and Ken...

Re: Odometers stopped turning (and I don't think it's the gears)
Thanks for the feedback gents. Apparently the odometer system is separate from speedometer as I came across the following articles which indicates 2 connectors specifically for odometer. Now if there are wires that end up to the back of the instrument cluster for the odometer only, then were do they...

Odometers stopped turning (and I don't think it's the gears)
Hi guys... I just had the back-light of the OBC replaced with the LED type and after I got the car back I noticed that both odometers were not turning anymore. Mechanic said that he didn't remove the instrument cluster and thinks that it could be the worn gears... I only have 52K miles on it and the...

Re: Fault Code 1222
Brucey do you mean Digital Volt Meter? If that's the case, what voltage should I expect and where do I connect the tips to?

Re: Fault Code 1222
Thanks for your input Ralph. I've visually checked the rubber seals and they seem OK but I think I should do "carburetor cleaner spray test" to make sure there are no leaks and then go with Brucey's suggestions. Brucey thank you for your reply. I've been reading your articles for years now...

Re: Fault Code 1222
Hey guys, can anyone help me out as to how to identify if my car is burning lean or rich? Unfortunately the error code only tells me that the car is outside 10% acceptable margins for burning optimum.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

Fault Code 1222
Dear Fine Gentlemen :D , The CEL on my '89 with 52K miles comes on when the car runs idle after warm up and goes away when driving with a bit of loss of power and rough idling. I followed the procedure of getting the ECU fault code by flooring the gas pedal 5 times with ignition on "ON" po...

Removing steering wheel with airbag
I'm trying to change the flasher relay and have already disassembled the knee bolster and unscrewed the only visible bolt on the bottom part of the steering column cover. However there are two more screws that I need to remove and they are covered by the steering wheel. How do I go about accessing t...
