1978 Alpina B7 Turbo Coupe for auction on Bring a Trailer

Pretty nice example and noted as the first Alpina vehicle built. Already bid to six figures.

It's a M6, so it is a North American vehicle. All non-North American vehicles are M635s I believe.

Re: 1988 M6 Cylinder Head Cover Torque Specification

Thanks Bert. The factory torque manual you note - does that apply to a 1988 M6/S38? If so, I'd really be interested in a copy. Below is the first page of a manual I retrieved from the internet a few years ago. The only one I've found that covers the S38. Also shown is the generic torque specs. That'...

1988 M6 Cylinder Head Cover Torque Specification

Looking to torque my valve cover down. My BMW specification manual (includes S38) only shows the M21 engine for some reason.

Thanks

You may be stuck with trying to find a used system. Since many people replace or disable the system there may be one available. I was concerned about parts availability for my car so when a used system came up for sale I jumped on it.

Nice Euro 1984 BMW M635CSi for sale on BAT

I have no connection to this car/owner, but I thought it was a pretty nice example. Agate green with what appears to be buffalo leather interior.

Re: thrust rod bushings

A couple of things. The snippet is a portion of a spreadsheet I created. I find it easier to make a concise list of all the parts I want/need. I also like a record of what I purchased. The larger spreadsheet includes prices from other suppliers - the "regulars": Maximillian, ECS, FCP Euro,...

Re: thrust rod bushings

I was looking about a year ago for assemblies and they were impossible to find. Some cheap ones were around, but I didn't want to scrimp. My ball joints looked good, so I bought Lemforder bushings. I was hoping post-covid that availability would improve...
