Re: Front Headliner Cover Resto

So there's and old saying, "If it's stupid, but it works. It's not stupid." I believe that is where I ended up with this project. While brainstorming for solutions to my attachment problem, I started looking around my garage foe something that might solve this problem. I noticed that a hac...

Re: Sunroof liner fabric repair / reattach

Any ideas on how to reattach the sunroof liner at the rear? Mine is lose all around the back edge and hanging down. I recently dealt with this. The only way to fix this is to remove the sunroof liner and reattach the material. To do this, the sunroof must be removed to get to the liner and frame. I...

Re: Front Headliner Cover Resto

Ross, did you find hooks yet, or come up with another solution :-? I still have 2 intact panels, but they are a bit out of reach, so if you still need, I will dig them out for ya \:D/ BTW, nice work =D> I've got an idea that I want to try first. I'll post what I'm up when I get started on it. Thank...

Re: Front Headliner Cover Resto

Repaired my panel which had been bent and cracked during some previous removal. One of the clips was missing due to someone pulling down for removal. I found a broken panel and was able to salvage a clip. I am a firm believer in Liquid Nails and so I glued the clip on with that. As to the crack whi...

Re: Front Headliner Cover Resto

I designed a part that takes the place of the sunroof motor access panel. It bolts onto the mount for the sunroof relay and pulls the panel up. https://i.imgur.com/JdtrEq9l.png https://i.imgur.com/rg1lOA1l.png This is very interesting. What does it actually screw into to keep it supported?

Front Headliner Cover Resto

So I've been doing some interior work and got around to dealing with my disintegrating front headliner cover. I'm using a combination of tongue depressors and Gorilla Glue to shore up the cracks. However, I'm at a bit of a loss on how to repair the mounting clips. Like most others, the plastic part ...

FS: Set of 5 Style 29 Wheels w/ center caps

Set of 5 BMW style 29 16x7 et20 wheels with center caps. Wheels are mostly in pretty good shape. One wheel has some peeling and one has a slight bend in it. Tires (225/55/17) are in fair condition, no cracking but showing some wear. Local pick up only. $300

Re: OH NO! California wants to ban gas powered vehicles

As a kid growing up in LA in the 70's, I remember how bad the air was. When I would come home from playing with my buddies (when the street lights came on), my eyes would burn and my lungs would hurt from all the smog. I still live in LA and my kids have no idea what that was like because of regulat...

Re: Of Performance Chips and Thermostats

My friend and I have a saying when it comes to doing any modification on our cars, "Don't try and outsmart a room full of German engineers." I wouldn't even think of messing with the thermostat on a stock built/tune. Nonetheless, I came across this article and it got me thinking (overthin...

Of Performance Chips and Thermostats

I plan on installing a performance chip soon. My question for the team is not about which chip to purchase. Rather, my question is about what temperature thermostat would best suit a performance chip. Living in SoCal, it is unlikely that I would ever drive my car in sub 50 (f) weather. It will be dr...

Re: What did you do to your E24 today?

The Shark was running on the warm side during our recent triple digit weather. So, I decided it was probably time to do an overhaul on the cooling system. I Replaced the radiator, water pump, fan clutch, thermostat, all the hoses and T fitting, belts and refilled with blue coolant. As normally happe...

It was a blast! We went up Angeles Crest to Angeles Highway then through Leona Valley and down Lake Hughes Road to Castaic.

I went for a drive up Angeles Crest a few weeks ago. I had the pleasure of chasing a C7 Corvette, Porsche GT4, Porsche Panamera, E90 M3 and a McClaren. I was in the E30 convertible. Yes, I was a little over matched.

I hope everything worked out for you. A few years ago we were under a mandatory evacuation order as well (Creek Fire). At the time my E30 was in the middle of a major brake renovation so it was left behind. Initially it bothered me. However, at the end of the day it's just stuff. As much as we love ...

CA Smog Test Fail High NO

Greetings all. I recently purchased this vehicle and have been having some issues with passing a smog test. My smog test guy has been helping me out by giving me a pre-check to get things sorted out prior to the official check. The big issue, at first, was high HC. The first checking I did had the H...

Re: Bringing The Shark Home

Big setback today. Just outside of Grand Junction, CO the car quit on me. After some basic troubleshooting, I discovered that I had spark but no fuel flow. I had my dad crank it while I held the fuel pump to feel if it was working. Miraculously, the car started! We finished the drive into Grand Junc...
