You would need to find a bell housing for your crank sensors. Motronic fuel injection requires these, the series one cars are L jetronic and don't have the mounting provisions.

Re: New-to-me E24
That looks like a very nice well cared for series one car. The early cars are the best ones in my opinion, much more analog (fun) to drive.

Re: Coolant Temp Gauge Erratic
You motivated me to fix my erratic fuel and temp gauges this weekend... when the fuel tank was full the gauge would work fine but as the level decreased it would completely fail. The temp was similarly erratic. So yesterday afternoon I extracted the cluster (stupid dash cap made that quit difficult)...

Re: Clock reset
If I remember correctly when my son and I did that. We remove the glove box and came in on the side to get one. Then we were able to get to the other one through the front. We removed the connection on the other side of the flex joint, it was more assesable. I would consider replacing those joints i...

Re: Handbrake Lever Excessive Movement
There are nylon bushings that go through the parking brake lever pivot. Remove the lever and install new bushings, I am thinking there the same as the brake and clutch pedal pivot bushings. It's amazing how much slop you end up with when those fail. You will need to remove the cables first, then the...

Looking new, nicely done. Sometimes I wish my car's were at that level, I guess it's just a matter of time.

Re: Air Conditioning
I just went through this process over the weekend. Last year my Polaris car had identical symptoms, which I convinced myself that the diode had failed. Seeing this post last week I decided to prove my theory. Unfortunately the diode checked out fine, so Bert and Bobo were right on. That micro switch...

What about the oil pump chain tension, it needs to be shimmed properly.

Re: 1988 Hard Start, Stumble, Dies
From where I'm sitting it looks more like an ignition problem than fuel. Most of my experience is with the early e12 cars but it shure sound like a weak spark. Intermittent connections to the coil primary side, bad or failing coil/wire. More issues after washing sounds like bad connections. There is...

Re: What did you do to your E24 today?
You don't miss much do you Bert? Thats a 87 b35 motor with an unknown cam, the way I got the car with zero history. It is very strong, and addictive. Also has oversized anti-rollbars with delrin bushings, it's alot of fun. It's behind my new 79 euro in the pic below without the air dam. Luke was enj...

Re: Pix from October 3rd day drive that replaced PSF 2020
We had a most enjoyable time driving up to the gathering in Gilroy. Neet to have all three series1 cars within the family cruising up together. Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to visit with enough of the other folks on the drive, but plan to improve on that next time. Definitely some beautiful m...

Re: What did you do to your E24 today?
Today was a busy car day. I mounted new Wheels and tires to my recently purchased 79 Euro 635. Then drove out to the shop to help my brother repair an inferior American car. Evidently some rodents ate the wires going to the crank sensor on the backside of the front wheel drive V6 motor. Mean while o...

Re: Buzzing Noise/Groan from Intake/Valve Cover
One thought, if you haven't checked the torque on the banjo bolts maybe one has migrated itself against the cam or rocker. Remove the cover and check it out, pretty simple job. Short length of hose works well for a listening device before removal of the cover.
Good luck

All it needs now is to talk Luke into making the center of the multiple wheels gold. The car looks amazing, nice change.

Re: Cabin Constantly Hot, Need Help
It seems simple, but don't forget to check your fuses. I had a power seat switch stick with out my knowledge. Next time I drove the car it tried to roast me. Circuit runs the AC, power seats, heater valve. Don't remember what else.
