Re: Radiator lower hose change
I also wanted to add something to this discussion :-" You will still need to bleed the system of any trapped air as well :-? The bleeder screw is up by the T'stat housing [-o< It helps to have the car pointed slightly uphill if possible, and with the engine running, open the screw to allow any trapp...

Power steering hydraulics refresh - Plus :)
When does it ever end :-({|= While test driving after exchanging the rear springs, I noticed that the power steering was whining louder than "normal", admittedly this has been leaking for quite some time, and such a dirty mess that I really didn't want to deal with it  In fact, I am embarrassed...

Re: Fixed my saggy butt - rear spring replacement
Hey Bert, it was a great feeling to finally get at least the rear pair of these springs in
I only took a short drive, as my power steering is whining and that's my next issue to address
And you should easily be able to sell those Bilsteins here or elsewhere
Hmm

Re: Fixed my saggy butt - rear spring replacement
Hey Tim, I actually purchased these from another board member who was picking up E12 chassis parts as they become increasingly harder to come by :-({|= Here's a link to their website, they are in Sweden :-" http://b-gsuspension.com/ I have attached another photo of the ST spring that's been on the 6...

Fixed my saggy butt - rear spring replacement
Yes, it's true, I've had these springs from Bert for years  While doing some other work in the rear recently, I noticed rubber bits sitting on the spring perches, and thought that the pads were disintegrating :-? Turns out it was just the closed cell foam bump stops that apparently aren't even...

Re: Pressure Hose Ideas
I did this as well a few years ago when I blew an A/C hose after having the system charged, dumping the freon right onto my headers #-o The cloud of smoke was not pretty :-({|= But I priced the 3 flexible hoses from BMW and would have cost me half a grand [-X So I took them to a hydraulic hose shop,...

Re: Momo steering wheel mounting ring really required?
Thanks Dave, I have to admit that it looks much better than the one I made  But the more I look at the setup and think about it, it appears that the only purpose for the plate in between the wheel and hub is to mount the horn button :-? Me thinks that it wouldn't add anything for strength, in ...

Gents, in my quest to install the old school Motorsport Roundels everywhere, I got hung up on the steering wheel horn button, and made my own. :-" It sorta came out all right, but I wasn't satisfied, so I bought one from Renown https://www.renownusa.com/ as their info told me that it would fit =D> W...
