Re: Front plate delete
I've never seen an embossed one for an E24. E30 and E36, yes, but not the E24. That doesn't mean they don't exist.

Re: Interior light wiring question
Doesn't the "door open" side work by grounding the light? Maybe it's not grounding the new light? Just thinking out loud.

Re: What’s going on with Trump???
Wishing we had an "ignore thread" button. A thread similar to this one threatened to tear Bigcoupe.com apart some time back. I'm ashamed that I even replied to this one above. I won't make that mistake again. The brotherhood and camaraderie we here is worth more than petty politics. Regard...

Re: Odometer gears
I would not recommend the Garagistic gears, they are garbage and they don’t stand behind their product. How so? I've used Garagistic gears in both my E24s and both E30s with ZERO problems. The set in my 85 325e is approaching 60,000 miles of use. I can't speak for your experience with Garagistic od...

Bob, please clarify. You want a right hand mirror, correct? Your pictures show a left side mirror, I assume for comparison?

Re: Analog installation plans, but foggy outlook :(
LOL! My wife would hunt you down and shoot you for suggesting it right after she shot me for bringing home another project. Seriously, I am facing the reality that due to physical challenges I can no longer do any major work on my cars. Simple stuff, like routine maintenence, yes, but the kind of ma...

Re: Analog installation plans, but foggy outlook :(
Best stuff i've found for polishing plastic is Plexus. You can find it at motorcycle shops. By the smallest size they have. A tiny bit goes a long way.

Re: How To: BMW M30 Coolant System Flush
I realize that, Ralph. What I was getting at, Tim said: "Pour in 6L of undiluted 50/50 anti-freeze to mix with whatever is already in the block" It should read "pour in 6L of undiluted antifreeze"... The 50/50 stuff is diluted. You should be using full strength, undiluted 100% an...

Re: Sunroof Motor Blowing Fuses
Remove and lube the motor. I had the same problem, and fresh grease in the bearings (bushings, actually) cured it.

Re: How To: BMW M30 Coolant System Flush
Excellent, step-by-step instructions! Thank you!
One correction. Step #15, undiluted antifreeze is 100% antifreeze, not 50/50. Not a criticism, almost certain that was a typo.

The little box by the expansion tank is an auxiliary fused wiring connection. It's likely not connected to anything.

Re: 1984 633CSi Rises again!
Great looking work. =D> But I am VERY concerned about you reusing the fan. I would take it out, clean it with solvent or alcohol and bent each blade both forward and backward, carefully examining for cracks. I know the red fans are desirable and just about unobtainium today, but I'd hate to see you ...

Re: M90 flywheel position issue?
There's a thin steel bushing on the rear of the crankshaft (or should be) that fits in that hole at 11:30 in your picture. Its a hollow tube,, not a dowel. The flywheel bolt for that hole fits through the bushing. That's what times the flywheel to the crank so that the crank position sensor is corre...

I wish the previous owner(s) of my E30 had used something like that instead of semi-gloss black paint.

Re: Parts suppliers
So true. My buddy Eddie is usually the parts ordered for our projects. Pelican was his "go-to". Several years ago he said he'd noticed he could no longer get a parts desk person on the phone that knew jack-squat about the parts they sold as had been the case earlier. Their stock answer now...

Re: Starter motor won't crank engine
My 1984 633 developed a reluctance to starting, that is, the starter wouldn't spin the crank. The solenoid would engage, but the starter would spin slowly if at all. It had the symptom of a poor ground. I took the starter off and cleaned the contact area between the starter body and bellhousing. Tha...
