Re: Clock reset
I've seen the same. Makes me think there's a capacitor back-up in the clock that will keep it on for a while in the background if it loses power, but not actually 'running', as in the clock advancing. I do know it's a heck of a lot easier to bump the time forward to correct it than it is to start ov...

Re: I've turned into a flockoholic!!! Glove box redo
I ran into the same "reverse polarity" problem when I converted all the lighting on my two E30s. That and getting a signal flasher that would work on the low current draw LEDs.

I wonder what a dead paint and rusty E24 is worth? LOL.

Re: Refinishing BBS RC090 Wheels - Pictorial and Video
I've been restoring and rebuilding locomotive air horns for 20+ years (thus the hornhospital screen name). I had to quit a few years ago due to health issues. While active I had to remove some truly tough paint, Dupont Imron. Properly applied it is nearly impervious to all conventional paint remover...

Probably a filler neck hose is cracked. Did you run it full as you could get it?

Wiggle it from the top and bottom or front and back? Or both? If both, wheel bearings. If top and bottom but not front and back, suspension bushings. If front and back but not top and bottom, tierod ends or steering box.

Re: Anyone running 18X9 up FRONT? Feedback/Suggestions?
18x9 with a 20 offset might fit, but it's going to be very close. I have 18x8.5s with 25 offset on the front and they fit (235/40) without rubbing, but it's VERY close to the strut.

Re: Flasher / Indicator / turn signal intermittent: possibly a relay issue?
Replace the relay. You might consider an electronic version rather than the electromechanical OEM version. The only disadvantage is that it will flash regardless of failed bulbs/connections, something that the OEM unit will sometimes "warn" you about by failing to flash if a bulb fails.

If it's going to see heavy use (like it appears to have in the past), use bar top epoxy.

Re: Fuel line size - 85 635 March build
Fuel injection pressure rated hose ONLY. 8mm I.D./12mm O.D. is correct. Regular (screw clamp) hose clamps are ok. The ones with the formed thread rather than slotted threads are better for the hose.

Re: Center console surround removal procedure?
We are fine, thanks for asking. A little wind (45-50 mph) for a few hours, and TONS of rain. Actually a lot less severe than I expected for being on the E/NE side of the storm. We are already close to our yearly rainfall total, with the normally wet months of October and November yet to come. Sure w...

Re: Engine does not start
Semi-educated guess (some would disagree ): the ECU has a failed solder joint or two. It would start with difficulty when cold, but when warm it work and started normally. The solder joints in the ECU/DME is a known trouble spot. When they crack you get connections randomly according to the am...

Re: Rough idle/ misfire on an 85
I see nowhere that you tested the O2 sensor or it's connection with the ECU. If you have checked the O2 sensor and circuit, my apologies. Your car displays every symptom of a failed O2 sensor. The ECU has defaulted to full rich, running the injectors wide open to keep the pistons from melting (bette...
