The imgur image is likely from an M30B32. The merge right after the manifolds was early design while the later dual pipes to the cat is the B34 setup
As the realoem diagram shows, the downpipes are integrated into the catalyst section. Welded together at the factory

Re: No ignition on hot days
Consider applying +12v directly from the battery to the solenoid. Just as a final confirmation step as the starter is actually a lot of work to remove. Secondly, consider the B35 starter replacement instead of the regular and larger B34 starter. Much easier to install as hardware location is accessi...

Re: No ignition on hot days
Try connecting a jumper cable (just the negative cable of a jumper cable set) from the battery negative to the starter body or ground strap at the starter. Do this when you're in the no start condition. If the car cranks and starts then your problem is in the.negative side of the circuit I had the s...

Re: Brake puzzle, new to the e24
Thanks again for the advice. I suppose I'll need to identify the master since I've been reading the the series 1 masters can be rebuilt, but the series 2 not so much. Does that sound accurate? That's just that start of the differences. Series 1 brake calipers are 4 pot up front but the upper and lo...

Re: 635 / M6(?) Dinan blue front lowering springs
Front springs are the same for 635 amd M6, rears are different.
Not sure those are Dinan as there is a specific shave off the end of the spring. The end forms a D instead of an O

ECS has limited availability on series 1 control arms. Backordered on Left side arms but Right is ready to ship. Be careful with ECS as they have Series 1 and Series 2 in the same grouping of parts. You have to know what you need

Welcome to the madness. 82 did not have antilock brakes. That started in 85 82 is also the changeover year from Series 1 to Series 2. By saying you have a hydrobooster, it tells me the brake system is Series 2. Hydroboost is known for leaking and we have a known rebuilder of these units. JCS is a me...

Re: 628 CSI ‘81 choked too rich vacume ?
Check Coolant Temperature Sensor input to ecu. The sensor provides a resistance value that increases as temperature increases. Control system defaults to rich condition if there's a sensor input issue Was fuel tank inspected for rust? Common issue that slowly cuts off fuel supply. Fuel Pressure is i...

Re: 633csi B34 5 speed swap
Both fuel pump and starter solenoid get signals from the ignition switch and after replacing that you're having issues. That, along with no cranking would make me put the old one back in place. You don't have to install the switch into the column. Just swap at the harness connector and see if the pr...

If your car is an auto, there should be 2 unused holes for the clutch lines next to the pedals. Good luck

Getting things done!! Best time to change Rear Main Seal and Front Crank Seal. Inspect freeze plugs for corrosion. Change Input, Output and Selector Shaft Seals on trans.

Another consideration is the harness connector to the fuse box though. You may have to do some work there. E24 has blade fusebox, e28 has torpedo fuses

Re: 633csi B34 5 speed swap
You should swap out the harness as it's not just the idle control that's different. TPS may also be different and I know that along with the ecu, the AFM and the injectors are also different. The TPS is a bigger concern as a difference there will require some wiring changes to the ecu. Good luck Ralph

Re: Remove door card with door closed?
Nice pictures you can use in this thread. First pic has an arrow going right across a vertical rod. That rod goes from the solenoid through the lock/latch system then up through the top of the door for the visible post. Pulling up on that connection will unlock the latch. Unfortunately that bright g...

Re: 1985 635 CSI swaping power comforts to powered sport seats from a 1986 with memory. What do I need for wiring?
You will need a harness from an e24 memory seat. The seat controller has different electrical input so it will not plug in to your car. Your other option is to swap the memory seat controls to non-memory unit - something I'm not experienced with I may have a memory seat harness available. Ralph You ...
