Combination Stop sign/grade crossing sign. You can see the bottom of the "(X number of) Tracks" sign above the stop sign, and the tracks behind the car.

Mentioning TVR brings to mind a couple of Clarkson's comments about them: ?Owning a TVR in the past was like owning a bear. I mean it was great, until it pulled your head off, which it would.? and perhaps the most memorable: "In the olden days I always got the impression that TVR built a car, p...

5 speed or automatic? If it really went to zero, the engine wouldn't recover. It would stall.

Notwithstanding my previous comments, why don't BMW go the whole hog, turn the car into a "family friendly" 5-door hatchback and therefore make the car so unattractive to dyed-in-the-wool BMW enthusiasts that sales are non existent and that variant quietly dies :-k Agreed. To answer the q...

Chad, where are you located? If you have an Auto Zone, Pep Boys, Advance Auto Parts, O'Reilly's or any other chain parts store, MOST of them loan/rent tools, among them a vacuum pump brake/clutch bleeder. To me it's much simpler to use one of those than all that juggling of cylinder/bleed screw/feed...

If the lower boot, the felt insulation and the upper shift boot are all in good shape, they're doing their job, and you won't feel any air through the shifter hole. The shift boot (upper) on my 633 is in fair shape, but the retainer hoops is cracked, so it won't stay put on the console. However, the...

Since the shift lever isn't connected directly to the transmission, it has to be getting heated by air flow from the engine and/or exhaust.

The seals/piston cups in your master cylinder are becoming iffy. At least that's what it's been on the vehicles I've had that did that. I've never had either E24 do that (yet).

Yet another reason to avoid living in California. Yes, it's beautiful. Yes it's blessed with many natural wonders and resources. Is it worth it to put up with their ever-increasing Draconian rules? Not to me, it isn't.

Good luck with your search for a cat solution.

120 is the bolt circle in millimeters. 120 x 5 lugs. AFAIK, from the oldest to the newest BMW, all the BMW 5-bolt wheels are 120. And all the BMW 4 bolts are 100mm.

Offset for the E24 is ~20mm. A 120 offset would put the wheel center under the car about where the spring perch is!
