Lots of visitors! Sign up!

Post by hornhospital »

I happened to notice tonight 4/23/2021 at midnight Central Daylight Time, we had 100 total users on the Bigcoupe.com site. 96 were visitors! C'mon, folks, a majority of you came here because of interest in the glorious vehicle called an E24. Why not sign up and let us know who you are. This is probably the friendliest car website on the Interwebs. If you have questions about your E24, it's almost certain someone here will be more than happy to help and will have a solution to whatever problem your Shark may be having.

You get more value from signing up than simply lurking. We're a very friendly bunch.

A phrase comes to mind.....you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink.

I've tried to direct a bunch of E24 owners to this site from Bimmerfest, but few have signed up that I'm aware of. Bimmerfest has a huge, active forum subset that covers all models of BMWs, but the E24 forum is practically unused/crickets. I tell em, head over to Bigcoupe.com, where there's E24 activity every day.

Hope we can get more engagement on here.

Seems a lot of stuff goes on FB now and threads disappear into the abyss after just a few days. Here I can find a thread from 2008 that walks me through solving my problem!

Can honestly say that without this forum and the friendly help, keeping an e24 going would not have been possible for me.

Keeps me sane and positive through the frustrating times.. and it's somewhere to share the good times.

Anyone who owns or wants one of these unique cars should register. The support we get from Bigcoupe for technical information is phenomenal.

Absolutely agree! And there are some of us from before the internet era who really appreciate both BigCoupe and the 'net in general.

In the old days I had to visit the local library to look at workshop manuals and spend hours driving or 'phoning around car parts shops looking for spares. Otherwise it was the breakers and those frightening encounters with the "junk yard dogs" - and their owners!

There were no youtube videos to show how to do a particular task. It was either teach yourself through trial and error, or pay someone to do it. I learnt the hard way and ended up teaching myself

I love this post. 8)

I've found that the one time $25 registration fee does turn many away.

I'm really unforgiving as I feel if you cannot spend $25 to support a central place that will address 99% of your questions about your E24, then don't let the door hit ya on the way out ](*,)

I'm a newly signed-up user, being convinced of the value after reading this thread.
But I can't say it was an easy onboarding experience at all - It needed perseverance and patience to finally get registered, nearly a month after initially making contact.

But I understand that Bruce has had some serious medical issues to deal with, so I suspect that would have caused some of the delays.

Happy to share my signup experience (and thoughts about improvements) with admins privately if they're interested.

Hey Tim, yes, welcome to the madness =D>

It's actually Brian who is the site admin, I'll let him know that you had issues, not the first person that I've heard this from [-X

Brucey is a HUGE contributor from the UK with a vast amount of knowledge, that recently had a medical setback :(

The amount of members that reached out was amazing \:D/

Okey doke, so let's see your shark [-o<
