Advice re parts Suppliers

Post by aap1966 »

Hi All,
I've been a lurker here for years, but now need the advice of the collective brain's trust.
New parts in Australia are exorbitant, so I get my parts from Pelican Parts in the US. (Good prices, great service, would recommend without hesitation).
However, with a change in policy from BMW, it's now impossible to get some specifically RHD parts through the US, even on special order.
So, the question………………….

Where do the UK / Ireland / NZ / South Africa guys get new parts without selling a kidney?

Any advice, for or against, very much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
I knew it would happen, just not so soon.

I posted a similar topic just recently.

I've used these guys, but you do need to know the part number.

Prices are higher than US but shipping is relatively cheap, especially if you utilise the max capacity breaks. Turnaround is about 3-4 weeks so have to be patient.

Try Brandon at Bluntec in Canada. He can/was able to get euro parts as Canada doesn't have the same hangups as BMW sending parts to the US . The whole problem, from what I have been lead to believe, is, parts that are not DOT
( Dept of Transportation) compliant will not be shipped to the US any longer.
I am guessing it is a perceived liability issue

I found these guys very good in Germany, mention it's a classic car (email) and you will also get a discount.

Use realoem for part numbers.

Best of Luck.
