Bmw 635csi b10 e24 alpina 1987 frank sytner UK. Front Bilstein gas inserts
Good afternoon . Bought some b6 Bilstein gas inserts for my 635 csi alpina. But the shaft where it goes through strut mount is too big.. I'm thinking that the strut mounts are different to most 635csi got new alpina coils ready to go .. I've contacted my local bmw but I won't get answer back for a few days. (Weeks) lol. I've done hrs internet search. So I'm hoping there is someone out there with some knowledge , part number etc. Thank you.

There is a difference in the struts between late and early cars. I am guessing you have an early car. There is a difference in the strut mounts and they are not interchangeable due to the bolt pattern

The shaft size on Series 1 cars is larger than the later Series 2. I also originally had the wrong struts for my 86' 635csi.
The correct part number is BLS34-02339. I am in Australia but sourced mine from Demon Tweeks in the UK.

Thank you for your replies. That's a great help. The Bilsteins I bought were also from demon Tweeks. .. .I shall have to call them ,as a search with that number doesn't bring anything up. . Hopefully not discontinued.. it may be that I will have to get them rebuilt.. which is a last resort. i have a garage for storage, but not enough room in to swing a cat. ..thank you for info.
