Coolant hose to expansion tank - too short

Post by wattsmonkey »

Hi chaps,

I've just refurbed the cooling system in the project car with the kit from W&N.

The hose, the one that tees off under the intake manifold to attach to the underside of the expansion tank, part number 11531272835, is the right shape, but too short, meaning the hoses running under the manifold from the heater valve to the thermostat housing are stretched away from the retaining clips. Realoem and Walloth Nesch are using the same number and the shape is exactly right, it's just a couple of inches short compared to the original part.

Is there a different hose for different markets?

I had the same problem with the burgundy car. Am I missing something obvious?

Thanks,

Rob

Original hose marked 1284598 phx4875, but that doesn't yield any results.

Here's a picture to better illustrate:

As you can see, I've had to route "Shorty" over the top of the PAS/bomb plumbing.

Better to go with short and stretched, or long and old if I can't get the right hose? I suppose I could cannibalise two shorties.

Hi Rob, as we all know there's lots of challenges with these classics. I purchase part number 11531284598, the last seven digits are the same as you indicated is on the hose you removed from your car. I'm hopeful the following photos will provide conclusive information. My photo shows the suffix of PHX4875 as well. Purchased from FCP $28.18 USD. If you need any additional info please let me know.Roger
