My newly acquired zinnober red late Highline project

Post by Hoarder »

Hi guys

Recently become the owner of a late zinnober red 1989 635 csiA Highline :D

The 6 had been stored in a barn I believe for the last 10 years but regularly started as mechanically it seems in good shape just needing a general service and going over.

I wonder if any previous owners are on here

Reg G980JEY
Zinnober red
It had Lotus white leather interior but someone along the lines has switched it to black leather.

From what I can see its needs the following repairs
Front wings where they usually rust on both sides
Drivers door needs paint
Exhaust needs replacing
Interior isn't in the best shape (still has lotus white carpet and rear lower side panels.
Door /window seals replacing both sides
Desperately needs lowering

The rest of paintwork on car is in good condition I think it could be original paint.

Plans are get the above work done, replace the chrome trim with shadow line and fit staggered 17" Hardline Alpinas with a genuine Alpina front spoiler.

Let me know what you guys think :D

That look pretty good to me, although I see what you mean about it being on stilts! They do sit relatively high as standard, but the rear especially looks extra high. Has it currently got self levelling rear suspension? I you do decide to lower it to any degree I wonder if you might have issues when attempting to set up the geo?

I never knew that e24's came with SLS option, I will check to see if this has any of that installed.
In regards to lowering it I wouldn't want to go too low just a little better than how it sits at moment, I could live with height at front but if I was to change springs it would have to be front and rear.

A few years ago I spotted a lovely Missano red M635csi Highline at Gaydon and it had the Alpina wheels and front spoiler fitted 8)
Looked absolutely amazing. I'm aiming for a similar look just mines won't be an M635 lol

Not even as an option?

This is with standard 635 front springs and M635 rear springs.
