Where to buy headers in Australia?

Post by au-635 »

Hi,

Sorry for posting in here and not the correct section, but I wanted to ask fellow Aussies where we can buy headers locally for our sixers?

I found this guy, fairly reasonable prices but he hasnt answered any emails and there is no phone number of the website. http://www.motorsportsdownunder.com

So I'm wondering where other people got either headers, or (preferably) a complete bolt on exhaust system in Australia? I'm in Melbourne.

I'd like a Fritz Bits header but I assume they aren't available locally and shipping from the UK will be too expensive.

Thanks
TrevorB

E12 headers

I am assuming you have an early car like mine?
This may not help but, I had the same result from MSdownunder. Headers for early RHD cars are a problem. In the end I talked to HiTech Exhausts who advised the power gain from headers over a good straight through system would probably not justify the expense 1500 v 2500 ish. The money you save almost buys a ported head.

Hi,

thanks for this input, what I'm actually after is a good note, not necessarily more power.

Is there anywhere in Australia pwople know of where we can get reasonably good headers?

Thanks.

ebay.co.uk or ebay.com or ebay.de

All of these work well. Note also that ebay.de often has Hartge or Alpina headers up for sale.

Here's and example. Probably AUD$650 delivered. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/New-BMW-E9-E ... 3cc80d35db

or here

Give em a shot. Note that some LHD countries have headers that conflict with the RHD steering column so be careful.

Mate, that's $1,150 approximately landed here in Oz

This one seems better value at $870 approximately.

If all you are after is a "reasonably good note" you can achieve this quote easily by simply messing about with the exhaust. (Listen to an original group A)

Beware though you can create an intolerable drone at highway cruise speeds if you get this wrong.
