Trip Idea for the NSW Boys
One of the best country drives I have undertaken in Australia
In order to collect some astronomy goodies in Kandos on my way from Qld to Jindabyne I detoured through the Bylong Valley.
Although I was in the Honda CRV I managed to sit on 100 for most of the trip through glorious twisting undulating roads, at time climbing and descending the escarpment.
How I wished I was in the big coupe !!!!!
Muswellbrook > Denman > Bylong > Rylstone > Kandos > Lithgow and then down the Bells Line of Road to Richmond.
(might have to check carsales for any bargains ............. )

I can do a May drive as Rosie is in Brazil until the second week of June so May or first weekend of June are free. No brakes again so will order the boosters, master cylinder (correct one), lines and caliper rebuild kits this week. time to get decent non fade brakes. Would not even pump up yesterday afternoon.
If my 6'er is not ready then it's Renault for me. Someone tell Ellis what that is!

Well yesterday was 676 km door to door and was relatively easy. The run up to Mudgee in a sort of loop is 530 so it's easily doable.

I can't suggest a date when i would be free as i don't know how the next few months are going to pan out for a while but this is certainly a route to keep in mind for sometime that isn't high summer.

Hey Paul, not sure if it's just me but that route didn't load properly. Plus I think you missed what is probably the best bit of this trip - here: http://goo.gl/maps/Z0bS5
So arguably a better route would be this: http://goo.gl/maps/NXmYi

Yeah, it was only a really rough guide as i was curious as to how far it was. I must admit that i missed the road from Denman which looks an absolute ripper so thanks for that.hoadie wrote:Hey Paul, not sure if it's just me but that route didn't load properly. I reckon we should do the run when you're off to Uluru 'cos you're a tosspot.
Have you got anything you want to sell? This is the place to do it mate.

This spot I nearly launched myself into orbit while crossing on my motorbike at 100km/h.

Just looked at Ben's google map route. As Rosie is away for 5 weeks from May 6 to June 13 I'm going to head up to Bathurst and do a few slow laps. Will incorporate Ben's route and make a good day of it. Lunch with Trevor if he is free would be a big plus. That bloke rocks!
Anyone else in for late May early June?

Rosie is in Brazil so I have 6 weekends to do that Bathurst Drive. Will touch base in a week or so Trev to see if you are free.
Need to refurb all brake calipers on my 633CSi. Had enough of running out of brake. I think I get a front locking on and this is causing premi heat-up and air in the line so no brake pedal.
