Sacramento/Foothills E24 M6 restoration

Post by arenchild »

Looking for a local shop that would be willing to assist with E24 M6 restoration.. its not so straight forward, in that the original car is an '89 E24 635CSI. I pulled the original M30B35 motor and auto trans, and replaced it with a '91 E34 M5 S38B36 motor and manual transmission. Engine and transmission are in the car, but there are some fitment issues preventing it from being completed and operational (air intake manifold rubs/hits existing cooling piping). Have the Recaro seats, that need to be reconditioned (don't know if the motors/sliders work... leather & padding need to be replaced/reconditioned). Major cracks in the dash... was thinking new dash pad/cover (leather)...have a new carpet... have stand alone gauge cluster for Oil temp/water temp/oil pressure to be installed ... need complete repaint.. suspension work is complete (lowered 1.5") while removing the original self leveling system...have 18" Racing Dynamics RGP wheels... car currently resides in Bay Area, but want to get it back up to where I live (Folsom area). Let me know who would be willing to take on such a project...no hurry, but its been sitting for 5 yrs now and I''ld like to get it back on the road...

Hi arenchild and welcome. I can't help with shops in Kali but would be interested in photos or details of your project, having done the same myself.

I did not have the original E34 M5 intake manifold system so had a custom carbon fibre unit manufactured. You can find details of my project in the LOCUTUS thread;
