Gasket for Fuel Tank Inspection Plate in boot/trunk

Post by wattsmonkey »

Hi all,

This appears as "ended" according to dealer, part no. 51711820957.

It's only a foam gasket, what's a suitable material to use to make one?

Thank you,

Rob

Dense cell foam or neoprene rubber or even very thick gasket paper

A milk carton also works great for gasket material

Problem with a milk carton is that gasket has a large diameter and when unfolded the milk carton will have creases in it. For small gaskets, that is a great idea. Still think some sort of rubber is the way to go on this particular gasket
