Heater blower switch issues SOLVED

Post by 635sharknose »

My heater blower switch does not work very well.
If I turn it on 10x, it works 1x, and it only works at the maximum setting.
When I turn on the air conditioning, the blower works perfectly, it is then also possible to regulate the speed.
But with the air conditioning off it doesn't work properly.
Any idea what's wrong?

Sounds like the control unit is bad. It's easily fixable, here:

The heater and A/C blowers are controlled by separate units, and the heater one is much more easily accessible. I did the A/C one. I also replaced the thermal breaker and resistor on mine while i was at it.

Thanks! Just what I needed.
I am going to take it apart and replace the transistor.

I have the same problem as 635sharknose. I have ordered transistor 64 11 1 381 785 and hopefully it will be alright. Are there any other parts in the heater system that cause problems exept the fans. (I have changed both)

It's a pdf.

Solved! Works perfectly again.
I also lubricated the bearings, runs like a charm :D

I have used a Darlington MJ11028, including thermal paste.
