For my friends here in the US, last night I had some free to finally complete the design of the brackets to convert from the unattractive and heavy US-Spec rear bumpers to the slim, sexier and lightweight Euro.
Unfortunately, I ran out of aluminum for these brackets, so need to order some more this week and then TIG weld it and share the final pictures. As an interesting data point, the rear US bumpers weigh 46lbs, the Euro bumpers weigh 10lbs. I would imagine you save close to 75lbs converting an E24 from the US bumpers to the Euro (front and rear).
I have already fabricated the aluminum brackets to convert the front bumper to the Euro and posted those pictures last year, this thread is further down.
More to come!
