Hi guys,
Any good advice how to take out (and than back) speedo needle correct way? Would like to replace capacitors because my RPMS are jumpy.
Found this but no info how you set it back in.

Re: Speedometer needle removal
On some of them they pull off. they appear to be press fit on a gear shaped spot on the needle.
I have a couple that I have done successfully, but I have a speedo that I can not get it to pull off from though so idk.
I actually just reached out to Bavarian Restoration (GREAT SHOP) and they told me this.
"to remove the needle, remove the entire tachometer assembly and disassemble it enough to access the drive motor shaft. Hold this shaft with a precision long nose needle pliers with enough force to secure it, but not enough force to bend it. Once you can hold the shaft, you can use a fork tool to pry up on the needle base, removing it. Alternatively, you can rotate the needle in a counter clockwise direction and it should start to pull away from the motor. Note that you must be sure you secure the needle shaft with the plier or it may damage the motor if you turn it counter clockwise. Also note these motor shafts are 35+ years old so the motor shaft snapping in half is very common, especially if you put a tool to them or remove the needle at all."

Thanks for the tip. I pulled needle off and I think I did not breake nothing. Will see once I put it together again. I did try to hold the shaft but I was afraid to grip it...

Re: Speedometer needle removal
Finally my speedo works I now have to align fuel gauge needle and rpm.
Is it okay to move the needle past end position in order to ajdust it or do I have to remove the needle and press it in again?
Thanks
