Post by VPRRAM »

Anyone done the DTM air dam? Is the quality any good. Saw many posts about hood and a couple talking about GOING to do the air dam....any one actually do it? Quality? Fitment Issues? Other Issues?

Personally I would try to find a used one but here’s an aftermarket company you can check out. It’s a bit expensive. Good luck

Yea, I agree, I'm not getting that one, I'm getting the one that installs with the front bumper still on.

I sort of like the look of it, I Feel like it needs the rubber strip (bumper) along the front to complete the look.

I am at a crossroads right now on this. I have the euro bumpers and my front air damn is pretty busted up... The repairs never seem to hold and paint peels from it.

I'm either going to go with the DTM air dam or take the original off, repair it enough to get a mold off of it and then make a lightweight CF replica... Should be able to shave a lot of weight off of it.

Well I bought the front air dam, fits nice, had to add some support in the back, for mounting. But the fit is good, I will try to post pictures. Overall happy...

Tried to post pictures...having no luck...file to big.

Thank you for this link.. I just ordered the one with no fog light cutouts.... They gotta make way for an inter-cooler and oil cooler :)

This is the DTM Fiberwerkz m6 style. It went on easy, was some mild surface cracking due to shipping though. Will be back from paint next week if anyone is curious how it looks finished.

Always takes longer than expected, but the exterior is all back together. Here is the dtmfiberwerkz front air dam.

Looks like the only fog lights that will fit are the US Spec '85-'87.

Please post a pic of the well for the fog light. Factory valance has a specific hole pattern to fit the foglight mounts. I have a few sets of the factory lights so I may be able to help

Here is what they look like, no holes yet so I can do whatever is needed for the lights, as long as they fit.

I bought some of these, but now I'm thinking they might be too small:

I have these factory Hella foglights. Mounting is at the back end with a 3-tab hole much like the radiation triad sign

Likely difficult to replicate the factory holes and much easier to create your own mounting system for whatever lights you get

Yeah, not trying to be authentic, just looking for the right sized parts and I'll make brackets as needed.
