Useful tool kit for removing rounded nuts/bolts.

Post by Pod »

I bought one of these kits recently which I found whilst surfing ebay, not for any other reason than it looked useful.

So today I was replacing rear droplinks and the bolts both sides had corroded so badly that even a six-point socket would not grip them. Obviously the easiest way to get a nut and bolt out in this situation would be to cut off one end and drift the remnant out, but as many of you will know, you can't do this on an E24 as there is not enough space behind the mounting point for the damaged part to come out and its not possible to get a grinder on the nut and spin it off!

My new toy did the job in seconds and I strongly recommend everybody has one in their tool chest!

I've gone through my ebay purchases but cannot find it. However the one posted appears identical!
