FS UK RHD M635CSi #152
Coming up soon at auction with "The Market".
Number 152, Arctic Blue with Pacific Cloth. 155k.
B512OPH.
Even though it appears to have spent much of its life in my neck of the woods, I've never heard of this car before. History suggests it was laid up between 1998 and 2021. £21k was spent last year with a non-specialist garage to get it back on the road, mostly on unspecified bodywork and an engine rebuild.
Lots of photos and info on the website.

I've had a look at the auction website and the car looks OK to me. I'm wondering why they put such low estimates on their cars? Interesting to see that DVLA shows only 15,537 miles!

They always do - but I’d much rather they did that than not post enough. I just hit the download button and go and make a cup of tea……….

For anyone considering this car, a detailed and specific write up has now been added to the listing.

It made me chuckle when I read that a competent home mechanic could change the brake discs … “in an afternoon or two”

I purchased this car for the reserve of £22k, what can I say, it’s had dodgy MOT, the self levelling headlights have been cut and therefore point to ground, Speedo and rev counter are both dead and shows the same mileage now as it did eight years ago.
The garage that did the work should be struck off, they charge £21k for there services over the last 5 years, his requirement was fully road legal car, which they achieved by never presenting the car to mot station which is up road from their site, I know this because they made the error in mileage reading on their documentation, I can’t believe an Mot station would make exactly the same mistake.
Work has began to get it back road legal and rolling restoration.

Best of luck to you. It'll be nice to see it closer resembling it's former glory - and this site is the world's best resource for E24 knowledge, there are some great people on here.
I'm not surprised to learn about the unscrupulous "restorer" though. They're based in an area with countless second-rate dealers/repairers and a notorious reputation...

I agree with Superman. You could try making a complaint to VOSA about the MOT, but I doubt it’ll go anywhere. Good luck with the restoration
