Re: Side window trim color.

I have looked at a bunch of pictures online and they all seem to be the grey color. Just now I went on BAT and looked at more close up pictures of dozens of e24s and they are all grey (nogaro silver). So I guess thats the case.

Re: Side window trim color.

This is the part in question. Does the color look wrong or am I crazy? I looked at a bunch of pictures online of other cars and they look the same no matter the color of the car.

Side window trim color.

I am a little confused. When I got my 1985 euro car the side window trim was in the trunk. It is in poor to fair condition. Last weekend, I went and got trim from a wrecked E24 that was in nice shape. When I got the new trim home it appears that the trim where it is not black or aluminum, is a mediu...

Carpet vinyl edging suggestions

I have a brand new fitted carpet for my car. I also have a roll of matching carpet. I need to re-create the speaker panels, door panel carpets, thin strip of carpet under the center console, rear speaker, deck, etc. I plan on either stitching the carpet to the vinyl strips with the sewing machine, o...

Re: Any tips for getting the HVAC Bowden cables reattached?

Derp. Ok. Got it. I took a couple pix for the next guy. Still a pain but much easier. And attaching the wiring will be much easier too. Remove the 2 screws behind the fan speed knob and the 2 behind the rectangular hole blank. Take off the slider knobs. Remove the entire assembly from the back of th...

Hefeweizen wrote: Thu Jun 29, 2023 8:14 pm Yes you are! You can actually take the outer frame for the panel off, connect, and put it back in. I too fell for that long time ago and almost qualified as a contortionist
So you remove the aluminum slider assembly from the plastic panel? I'll give it a try.

Any tips for getting the HVAC Bowden cables reattached?

I have one on but I can't for the life of me get the others. Is it just a nearly impossible task or am I missing an easier method?

Re: Drivers door/lock/latch assembly

I think Elias Gergy may have me covered. I searched for the repair kit and what I found was NLA but those were not with keys. I'll keep it in mind but prefer not to spend that much for just the clip and springs. I will if it have to but I have been putting in $500 weekly order for parts lately (and ...

Drivers door/lock/latch assembly

I am trying to put my door lock back together and have many door parts for my drivers door but am missing some too. Does anyone have an extra one they can sell me? I basically need what is in the picture. I seem to be missing the l-shaped clip, the tiny springs and balls and the larger spring that g...

Re: E24 Door Lock Detailed Tear-down & Rebuild Instructions

I spent many hours trying to get mine back together. I received it apart and have many extra parts as well as missing parts. This video was the only one that made it clear. Now, unfortunately, I seem to be missing the L-shaped clip that holds the lock on as well as the tiny spring and ball two ball ...

I have new anthrazit carpets for my 1985 e24. It came with the main carpet and the strip below the seats and I got an extra roll of carpet. I also have an entire original Schiefer carpet set with kick panels, carpet just below the center console and the carpeted section of the door panels. I am wres...

Re: Fog Light Mounting with Euro Valance/Alpina Spoiler

I got it figured out. This is an 85. I guess I needed to remove the large metal left and right brackets that were used with the M635csi style front spoiler and then it mounts directly to the rear side of the valance with the little pivot brackets and expanding nuts/screws. I had to remove the valanc...

Fog Light Mounting with Euro Valance/Alpina Spoiler

I'm hoping with many European members here I will find the answer. I have replaced my spoiler on my 1985 Euro 635csi and put on a Euro valance (i believe this is from a Euro 628. The fog lights mounted under the bumper were connected to the car with two metal L-shaped brackets. These brackets do not...

Re: Appropriate stereo for 1985 Euro

Ah, I remember the Berlin. Now.....to find one. That'll be the hard part. I also came across the Blaupunkt Bremen which is a modern radio that looks period. I know that contradicts my first post but it looks right (sorta). Ok. Someone must have a Berlin out there!
