If originality in't a concern, it's easy to use inexpensive generic parts. This is what I did on mine, albeit this is just for the windshield washer function:

The pump was about $15, and believe it or not, it happens to be a direct-replacement for the intensive washer pump, and the electrical connector even matches the BMW plugs. I don't know the original application, but it surely wasn't listed as a BMW part, but the parts man let me look through their stock. If you get into a bind, I could buy a few and send them to you for cost of goods and postage.

Hi Dean i'm after the same thing - my headlight washers having been disconnected in the past.

the images you posted dont seem to come up ? but if you have the info available on what you bought/did it'd be much appreciated.

Thnaks Julian.

PS I'm in the US every 6-7 weeks so can probably source them myself.

Julian, Dean passed away a couple of years ago. The washer pump was a stock pump from NAPA, I thought I saved the info, however, my searches on my computer hasn't turn up anything. A fellow member of this forum "SuperShark" purchased Dean's car, reach out to him through the search feature on the forum, he should have the info. Roger

Good Grief I'm sorry to hear that and sincerely hope I didn't inadvertently upset anyone.
Thank you Julian

To the contrary, you had no idea, and it's good to think of our friends that have passed on from time to time. Dean was a very active member, and a friend. We all miss him.

I have recently ordered and successfully fitted two wash pumps for the headlamp/screen washer system on my car. My first hurdle to overcome (and there many) was that my failed twin pump assembly required was NLA from BMW.

A huge thanks to K1W1 who kindly told me that 12V VDO washer pumps for a 1986 Porsche 944 are IDENTICAL, and freely available.

I ordered two, took them off the supplied single brackets, re-attached them to my original twin bracket, and now everything works perfectly.
