Re: PH Sunday Service 7th Feb at BMW UK
Excellent visit to BMW UK HQ. I signed on at 370 for a 200 limit. Close to the end they raised limit to 300 and by Saturday evening I was in. The cancellation process by PHers is very honest. My final place was 275 so nearly 100 had dropped out - proving that it is worth signing on.
The next visit is rumoured to be 20th March at Mercedes Benz World. Another excellent location so watch out for the opening of the Piston Heads Sunday Service lists. Previously they have had as many as 800 - so getting in should be possible.
BMW UK HQ was impressive. It is quite low key with not too much exterior branding. It is a large site with two large multi story car parks. Previously this was UK HQ of now extinct Nokia. We were allowed in to the BMW entrance lobby where unlimited free coffee and bacon or sausage butties were available. Very generous of BMW. And they had some interesting current models to sit in without any supervision. So a first time experience sitting in a 640, X6, 220 GT. Doors on the i8 looked like they would be a struggle to open at Sainsburys. The impression in the lobby was modern and efficient but not showy. Mini was in a separate building which was not open.
Outside BMW had lined up their latest hot cars. Outstanding of which was an M4 GTS and an M2. They had an M3 line up with all of the current colours on show. As is frequently commented, the colour range is not very special. The new 7 Series looked great.
Many very top end cars were lined up in the PH parking.
