Turbocharging a 628csi

Post by smashervt »

Hey everyone. I have a L jet tronic euro spec 628csi and was thinking of turbocharging it. Would it be a good idea I heard that the euro engine is high compression and not good for boost. If it’s not too bad to boost what would be a good kit to go with? Engine runs amazing but a turbo would be great

Hey smash, moving your thread to the "Mechanical" forum, likely to get more hits there [-o<

The workshop forum really doesn't address these types of questions :-k

Might want to start one in the "Project" forum instead

Well, once you get started

Not sure there is a kit for Ljet car.

I think your compression is about 9:1. Gotta find the components and figure out your plan to turbocharge it piecemeal.

Any m30 is perfect for turbocharging. To do it well it’s pretty costly excersise. If you can turn wrenches yourself and are resourceful well it may be less costly.

The M30 Forced Induction FB page is really good.

If you're going down this route originality is clearly out of the window - why not start with a B35? Still lots of them around at reasonable money and you'll have your trigger wheel from the outset.
