Aloha!

First pics as this is the first time she’s moved on her own power since 2019. Never posted any pics until now. Sold my convertible bug to get this back on the road as I inherited it and shipped it to the islands few years ago.

Drove this car back in the 80’z when I was a teenager living in Southern California. Always had major love for this car and now that I have become the care taker, enjoying every minute of it.

List of “to do’s” include brakes, AC, suspension, air dam (repair), wheels (BBS), and some lite interior work.

So nice that you became the owner of a car you drove as a teenager decades ago! Always like these stories.
Good luck in completing your to-do list. It's very short, normally the lists are much longer. 8)

If you are not able to repair the air dam, I think Bob V (86_6series) has one for sale.

Mahalo’z Paul,

Yep, it’s great to be able to work on this car now that I am the owner. My dad always took it to the dealership in Long Beach for services. Funniest thing about this car is every picture that I have from the 80’s had my high school sweet heart in the shot. Let’s just say my wife prefers those pictures to stay out of sight because it’s not her. 🤣🤣

The list is indeed short but expensive as there are not very many E24’s on the island. Ordered my AC lines from Germany because no one had them available anywhere in the states.

I ordered new rotors and brake pads; but then changed the shipping to “will call” because the shipping is more than the parts themselves. Cheaper to fly to SoCal to pick up and put in my return luggage than the ship them to Hawai’i. Thank God for Amazon Prime though! 🤣

The air dam isn’t too badly damaged, a few cracks here and there but like most, it’s got a serious warp right in the nose closest to the front/ground. Hope to have that sorted out as well so by the time I get the AC finished, I can put in the new struts and springs then install the air dam. Easy Peasey….at least that’s what I’m thinking. 🤣🤣

Have a great weekend! Aloha’z
