coolant temperature sender

Post by motroman »

Do I need to put plumbers tape or some other form of sealant on the threads? Also, do I need to drain some coolant from the radiator before removing the old sender?

Many thanks for your help.

Per my fading memory, tape is unnecessary. It seals with a crush washer. It should be replaced, but will reseal if in good condition. You won't really need to drain any coolant. If you are replacing it have the new one ready to go. When you pull the old one move quick to install the new and you'll not lose enough to matter.

Thanks for the advice. Will do the job before a big upcoming show next month in Saratoga.
