Antenna Ground Strap

Post by cmcgettrick »

Hi guys,

I was doing some detailing and cleaning in the trunk of my car today and noticed a ground strap from the antenna that is not connected to anything. Does anyone know where this should be grounded?

Thanks,
Chuck

This is an old photo from when I replaced mine - there should be a bolt accessible under the carpet trim?

Thanks! Yeah I found the hole for the bolt but my antenna doesn’t have a spot for that metal bracket you have. I guess I could just ground it there. Thank you!

Old photo of my 1988 M6. I don't even see a ground strap!

Thanks Scott! I'm not sure if the antenna I have in the car is original to the car. Why do I have the box on top of the antenna housing? It seems like maybe there were multiple suppliers or variations of the same part that went into these cars? Thanks for the help!
