Since bav auto is no longer, I’m wondering who is a good reliable supplier for our beloved sharks 🦈

The usuals:

BMW genuine
Maximillian Importing Company

Others
FCP Euro (lifetime guarantee!)
AutohauzAZ
Pelican Parts
ECS Tuning/Turner Motorsport (same company)

Europe
Wallothnesch

I'm sure many others will chime in.

ECS owns Pelican Parts, too.

Parts suppliers have gone high tech and ruined customer service. No longer able to actually speak to a rep as they're not staffed for that. They are staffed for online questions where reps send cut and paste generic answers. Absolute inefficiency and waste of SMALL CUSTOMER time. They cater to large online orders and could care less about the enthusiast working on his own car

Rant over

So true. My buddy Eddie is usually the parts ordered for our projects. Pelican was his "go-to". Several years ago he said he'd noticed he could no longer get a parts desk person on the phone that knew jack-squat about the parts they sold as had been the case earlier. Their stock answer now is "yeah, that should work". It's up the the consumer (US) to determine what we need. The difference is FCP Euro. They still have people that know their inventory and applications for that inventory. We had ordered somewhere in the neighborhood of $20,000 worth of parts from.Pelican from 2006 to about 2014. No more!

Well, you can always use Ralph for parts

But with the demise of both BavAuto and BMP Design, I too have switched to other online suppliers, with good success, I might add :-"

For standard replacement parts I have been using FCP Euro, and for aftermarket stuff I have gone to ECS Tuning

And at the suggestion of Klaus (who knows his shit) I have recently also used AutohausAZ and Rock Auto, the latter of which surprised me

I should also add that I typically know what I am looking for, the one exception being when I wanted to do a brake upgrade on the 330 Ci cabrio. I got everything I needed from ECS Tuning and was able to speak with a salesperson to assist with selecting pads, rotors, etc. =D>

I ordered from eeuroparts and was very satisfied with both the service and price. And when hey were told of a mistake on their part, they gave me a credit for my next order. No affiliation, just another option.

I like the way Rockauto give you a choice of the supplier in most cases to avoid the truly terrible ones. I have also ordered from BMW of South Atlanta for BMW/OEM parts.
