Nice work, and hard to tell from the pix that a repaint is required
I'm in need of having my headliner replaced as well, but the quotes are shocking and I will have to sell a few things or go back to work in order to afford it
A local well known and respected interior shop quoted $2k USD
Great work, please keep us posted on your progress

Years ago I bought my headliner from GAHH for under $200 and it fit perfect. Their material was close to the embossing on my original. Problem is to do it really right front and rear windshields have to come out as well as the rain gutters the body panels are all pinch welded in those areas The headliner was stretched over them and held by little clamps over the pinch welds.. I hadn't put the trim on or the glass in yet so we had it installed in about 2 hours. So I am thinking however your upholstery shop does it they shouldn't have more than 5-6 hours in it including sewing. They are not going to pull the trim so I think what you are paying for is their expertise in knowing how to get it looking right without tearing the car apart although $2K sounds a bit over the top. Maybe you should go down to Tijuana and get it done. LOL

Ronnie, I bought mine from Yasin (slownrusty on the board) new that he previously purchased from World Upholstery for a 6er that he never had installed
It's actually very close to the color of my interior, something between tan and beige
This is going to happen anytime soon due to the cost
I'm just gonna have to save up, as I can't justify spending that much coin on the 6er right now
