My 1989 635csi has been nearly flawless in the 10 years that I have owned it, but has recently exhibited "chattering" when turning the steering wheel. This is primarily evident when the car is just started in the morning, but I noticed that it is also barely doing it after the car warms up. I am sure that there must be a more appropriate description than chattering (maybe bumpy?), but that is the only word that comes to mind. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Tom

Re: Steering chattering
Have you tried to diagnose any obvious problems.
ATF level, leaks where air can cause cavitation,
does pump belt need adjusting?

Re: Steering chattering
Yes, those three issues were addressed. Sorry, I should have mentioned that in the initial post.
