I bought a lathe during thanksgiving and have been running the wheels off it. Something I should have done many years ago.

This is an "as good as it gets" garage tool. You did well. Sold mine years ago and have been kicking myself ever since

Re: Decided to Buy A Lathe
Let the chips fly
Wish I had one, and a mill, and the knowledge how to use them
Hmm, maybe you can go into the "Ed Raether steering box kit" business
I just talked to Ed earlier today, as he went silent on me, regarding the transfer of the drawings for the kit
I'll be setting that up very soon and they will be available to all on the board, for a small donation to the site
Great score Yasin

Re: Decided to Buy A Lathe
Thanks guys!
Happy to make parts for our cars.
Let me know, you will not have not have to twist my arm to fire it up.
My best,
Yasin

Re: Decided to Buy A Lathe
Do you need a measured drawing of Ed's steering kit? Mine is a 100 miles away but I could rough out the dimensions.

Re: Decided to Buy A Lathe
I am working with Ed to get the drawings and they are going to be made available for a small donation to the site
He had family issues, then computer issues, but I hope to have these soon
Since the main part is made on a lathe, if Yasin is up to the task, that will be up to him

Yes, I am 100% up to the task and ready when Bob is.
I am looking forward to this and keeping the torch lit!
Thanks!

Re: Decided to Buy A Lathe
Is this a "mini" or full size lathe?

Is this a "mini" or full sized lathe. Does it have a matching mill?
