rear spoiler adhesive - single piece "ducktail"

Post by wattsmonkey »

Hi chaps,

There are posts recommending 3M adhesive tape for the two-piece spoiler installation, as per factory setup, but I am struggling to find advice on the adhesive to use for the single piece "rubber" spoiler installation. It appeared to have the remains of some sort of impact adhesive, but I'm sure there must be something more efficient!

Any advice gratefully received.

Thank you,

Rob

I apologize for not answering your question. But I would like to find out something with exactly such a soiler. Is it originally just glued or is it also attached with some screws? If it is attached with screws, I would like to know where exactly they are.

Just use a ton of the 3m Adhesive tape.

I used to put spoilers on at the dealership and thats all we did.

+1 on the double sided 3M tape. Used it on mine and haven't had any issues. Also, it does bolt on.

Thank you,

I am in the fortunate position of having all four bolts present and correct: Sauber, you can make them out in the picture, but the four holes in your bootlid should clarify things!

I see I am a little late to the game on this reply... these are the measurements for the hole locations for the rear spoilers that bolt and glue down.

Also, I thought the spoiler that is pictured is the M Tech spoiler.
I thought the duckbill or ducktail is like the one pictured here. Anyone able to clear this up?
