Typically there is a plastic fitting that the stainless ball rotates on, is that also included?

Does this shifter use the OEM rod selector that connects to the transmission or the modified shorter version? I've seen it both ways.

After few hours off reserch this part # shows this is replacemt of OEM # 25 11 1 220 217
This part was also replaced # 25 11 1 207 520
If comes to fitments should work with
E24 1980-1989
