Dry ice blasting
Had the bottom of my 88 M6 dry ice blasted. Excellent results! Highly recommend.

Re: Dry ice blasting
Looks awesome. I did mine the old fashion way - very messy. Still does not look as good as yours.

Re: Dry ice blasting
What exactly does the dry ice process do, and/or how does it work
I guess I can look online for a shop that does it

Clean
Where was it done. Nor Cal?
Tell us about process .
What did it cost?
Does cost depend on degree of grime?
How long did it take etc etc etc.
Appreciate input .
Love to have my undersides match my top sides

Re: Dry ice blasting
I do like the benefits of dry ice except the price. But certainly understand why it is expensive as there is a ton of labor and time involved plus the cost of the dry ice and equipment usage.
Lately I have been getting good results with a good brush, degreaser and my power washer.
Here are some before and after pictures.

I first had the bottom steam cleaned that took the process about 25% of the way. Found Bobby at Speed Element in San Jose who did a great job. See video with before and after.

Re: Dry ice blasting
The dry ice was done at Speed Element in San Jose. Bobby works there and travels north as far a Napa. He took a couple of days to do the job. After cleaning the wheel wells we decided to undercoat again as there were paint chips.

Re: Dry ice blasting
Dry ice blasting seems to be the easiest most efficient way to clean the underside for sure. I had my car on blocks so not possible to bring it to a shop for that service. The mobile service was too expensive for what I needed. I even looked into a dry ice rental blasting unit but needed a high volume compressor, which I don’t have. In the end resorted to manual cleaning. Simple Green is quite effective and acetone for the stubborn spots.
