Re: My 635 Project
Worked my way around the front of the car repairing the rust.
I got stuck in and forgot to take pictures but rest assured that there was a lot more to repair than I have photos of. As usual everything was cut out and in some cases to get to the rust more metal had to be cut out than needed replacing.

Re: My 635 Project
Not sure why but the nose cone had previously been repaired by tacking on bits of sheet metal and then the whole nose had to be covered in filler to hide the plates! It takes more work to get the filler right over the whole nose than it does to let in a piece of steel properly, weird how some people think.
Re: My 635 Project
Impressive work. I could do neither the filler nor the metal work! Rock on!

Re: My 635 Project
I got a little tired of doing rust repairs so decided to do something different for a while. I want the rear shock towers inside the cabin so that the roll cage can mout directly to them which will help with rigidity so I cut the rear shelf/ bulkhead and then boxed them in. After that I fabricated the roll cage mounts and fitted the new FIA compliant seat mounts
Re: My 635 Project
The last 3 photos show the mounts tacked in, needless to say everything was seam welded.
