That's a lot of money for a unique car where the unique feature has been removed.

Not again!
Didn't this dealer have it for sale last year?
BTW, there's nothing wrong with it........"Aside from a few discreet imperfections the 635 remains in excellent condition".................'cos the dealer said so

Mike Brewer and Ed China threw away a set of those " unique " wheels due to them being drop dead hideous ..............

The red 635CSi renovation was on Quest again yesterday afternoon (I thought of you with steam coming out of your ears, Ron ).olympia57 wrote:Mike Brewer and Ed China threw away a set of those " unique " wheels due to them being drop dead hideous ..............
They sold it for £3,700 back in 2007 - I wonder what it would be worth now
Re: Observer coupe (at an inflated price)!
Interesting rear seats. Would make a good match with early Recaros.

I wonder why the rear seat belt points were removed - that should fail an MoT; and the ham-fisted attempt at integrating the front fog lights into the early 635 air-dam is boss-eyed.ron wrote:Interesting rear seats. Would make a good match with early Recaros.

.........and Hammerite(?) around the boot-closure (can see some rust, maybe, above the LH light cluster).
Obviously there's been a colour change as there's plenty of paint flaked off in the engine bay. Surely for that asking price, you'd think they would have sorted this properly. Also, looks as if the fan cover has been blown over as one can see corrosion in the usual places - which indicates to me that this car has been parked outside for some of its life.
I don't like the placement of the interior light - and surely they should have done something about those mobile 'phone fixing holes?

The Observer Coupe is the subject of a nine page feature in March 2023 (Issue 237) edition of Octane magazine.

Re: Observer coupe (at an inflated price)!
How many members remember the Silverstone meeting a few (lot) of years ago where this car turned up?
I’ve just talked to the guy who owned it then. He wasn’t impressed with workmanship and eventually sold it to Fourstar.
They were going to rectify the problems with the roof but, obviously they didn’t, as according to the Octane feature, it still doesn’t!
I let him know about the Octane feature.

Re: Observer coupe (at an inflated price)!
I love it when an old thread is resurrected. About six and a half years - doesn't time fly
Is anybody going to scan and post the Octane article? (after a decent time, when that issue is outdated, of course!)

Re: Observer coupe (at an inflated price)!
Wasn’t the issue with the roof that whomever made the sliding glass panels took the panels and mechanism away and left fixed glass panels in place?
