Correct P/N for 03/89 Left Low Beam Lens

Post by bm635csi »

HI
BMW 635csi - E24
Year=03/1989
Euro model , RHD
S/N=8188733

Had a creck on low beam lens , checked REALOEM and this is what i got
BMW Part=63121386775 ,Lamp lens left HELLA From:09/01/1988 ( ENDED 2009)

Looking at the diagram , its nothing like what i have in my Car both left and Right. low beam lens. ( Mine looks like E34 or E30 , with a smiley face :) .

Or is the diagram in RealOEM very old ?

I checked with Hella NZ and they have E34, E30, e32 lenses and they checking for E24. I also checked Pelican Parts USA and its the same as the RealOEM diagram .

Was there a later lens P/N for the last years of E24 Euro version RHD ?

Sounds like a previous owner has swapped out headlights ? What is the part number on the headlight in your car ?
1986 635csi LOCUTUS / Arktis Blau Metallic / Pearl Beige / S38B36/ Close ratio dogleg 5sp
2002 E46 M3 / Topaz Blau Metallic / Black Nappa / 6 speed SMG software tuned / Bilstein PSS10 Coilovers / CMP RACP reinforcement

The Hella Part number on the lens are the following
E1
top left = TR01 7404
Top Right = 04 7407 RS
Bottom = 302-35939

Attach the pic of the lens and switch. Also it does have the beam adjustment switch under the steering . Similar function like the E34.

Just checked 2 of my complete built up units and those part numbers on the glass are correct for the L/H unit. The Realoem diagram is generic and the item shown is the exact one for your car.

Is it just the glass cracked? You can change the glass with the aid of a hairdryer.

Does your beam adjustment work?

Its cracked with a ~2mm hole.. prone for water ingress when driving wet and its winter now here. Also have WOF due in a month and would fail..I suspect.

So P/N is correct . OK . will use to source the bits.

Yes beam adjustment works but not needed to adjust often as its auto-leveling suspension i think .

I did buy my E34iS new headlight unit from Hella NZ directly previously. ~NZD$133.00 . fyi attach Hella RHD NZ&UK H/L Headlight E34/E32 part number for this part of the world.

Thanks for confirming the P/N from the other post , Good info!
