Blaupunkt Bremen Reissue

Post by wattsmonkey »

Apologies if this has already been posted - looks pretty cool, I think and timely in an ironic way as I've just welded up the extra aerial hole in the rear of my car - the p.o. clearly thought reception was better with an aerial on the nearside!

I seen them Rob they look perfect for the e24 of whatever age , but the price is eye watering.
I've been looking at videos and instructions of fitting a 3.5mm aux in socket into a period rc and will be trying that on a couple of old units I have and if successful will try it on a period correct Blaupunkt.
I recently fitted a Kenwood head unit that looks surprisingly nice in situ but as I isolate the battery when not in use the Kenwood requires a set up when powered up again akin to a pre flight check on a A380.

As soon as they came out in October last year I got one, so this is probably the first one installed in an E24:

It's a nice unit, although not quite as well made as the old Blaupunkts from the 1980s, but it's what I had been waiting for ever since buying my E24 in 1999. \:D/

Wow Nick, that does look great. I thought I'd seen a post about it somewhere.

The price is definitely on the wrong side of prohibitive, Don! I love the idea of a remote aux input although I did have a bit of sadistic pleasure in watching my kids utter disgust at the garmin tape adapter's sound quality!

I like the new Continentals for a mix of period looks and modern utility. If you don't want a CD the are under $175.

^^^ The VDO/Continental radios and wiring harness are available on the ECS Tuning website. Several models include a CD player - for old guys with old cars like me! :D About $200/shipped w/CD player.

I have one too, I paired it with a Blaupunkt BEQ65 Equaliser, there can't be too many of these around. I love it, it does everything I want it to, A2DP bluetooth, DAB and pre outs

This Blaupunkt looks Great and yeah the price is up there too. I went the old schools way and still maintain "cassette" but tried to match the colour/button as much as possible and found this back in 1996 for my e28 and installed it on the e24. Head unit with Aux and a AUX/mp3 player on Garmin GPS . some pic.

I just finished fitting a CD43 and a GROM BT3 in my M635CSi. Looks great, fits great, sounds great*.
