Getting my M635 back in the road

Post by philm635 »

I’ve owned this one for around 25yrs but took it off the road when the rolling road smog testing came into use in CA. It ran great but NOX was high. So it’s been resting in the garage for many years. Recently I removed the add on O2 sensor circuit and installed a US version DME with the O2 sensor built in. It appears to be plug and play after you add the pin 24 circuit to the O2 sensor. Just got the cleaned injectors back in and checked the valve clearances which were all ok. I put a new brake bomb in a couple years ago and all was well. After driving for a few days suddenly saw the first oil leak ever under this car. Can’t really see where it’s coming from yet but suspect the brake booster or related area. Looks like this could be a real pain. Going to do a oil and filter change and will have a closer look tomorrow. Today I notices my charcoal canister appears to be missing a hose! Don’t see any hose loose so maybe someone can tell me where it is supposed to go. I see two vacuum lines going to it already so am confused why it would need three! The missing one is at the bottom.
